Solutions Architect – Pre-Sales
Overview
Akumina is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Solutions Architect to support our Sales organization by providing technical expertise throughout the customer buying journey. As a key member of the pre-sales team, you will partner with Account Executives to engage prospective and existing customers, understand business and technical requirements, and architect solutions leveraging Akumina's Employee Experience Platform (EXP), Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and AI-powered workplace technologies.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing executive business outcomes and deep technical architecture. This role requires a blend of consulting, solution design, product expertise, and presentation skills to help customers envision how Akumina can transform employee engagement, communications, knowledge management, and the digital workplace experience.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Solution Consulting
- Partner with Account Executives to support sales opportunities from discovery through contract close.
- Co-lead customer discovery sessions to understand business objectives, employee experience challenges, communication strategies, and technical environments.
- Develop solution recommendations that align Akumina capabilities with customer goals, use cases, and business outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to IT, Digital Workplace, HR, Internal Communications, and Executive stakeholders.
Solution Architecture & Design
- Design enterprise-scale digital workplace solutions leveraging Akumina's platform, Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams and related technologies.
- Deliver solution architecture diagrams, deployment models, integration strategies, and implementation roadmaps.
- Advise customers on best practices for governance, security, personalization, content management, employee engagement, and AI adoption.
- Design integrations with enterprise systems including HRIS, CRM, ITSM, knowledge management, and business applications.
Product Demonstrations & Proof of Concepts
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations tailored to customer requirements and industry use cases.
- Lead technical workshops and solution envisioning sessions.
- Support proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives by validating technical requirements and demonstrating business value.
- Showcase Akumina's AI-driven capabilities, employee experience solutions, and integration ecosystem.
Technical Sales Support
- Respond to RFPs, RFIs, security assessments, and technical due diligence requests.
- Provide technical expertise during procurement and vendor evaluation processes.
- Position Akumina's differentiators within the Employee Experience Platform and digital workplace market.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to address complex customer requirements and solution gaps.
Internal Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Product Management, and Engineering teams to ensure successful customer transitions.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to influence product roadmap and innovation initiatives.
- Contribute to sales enablement assets, solution playbooks, demo environments, and technical collateral.
What We're Looking For
Required Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Azure, and enterprise collaboration technologies.
- Experience designing and presenting enterprise software solutions to business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, APIs, authentication, integrations, and enterprise application ecosystems.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and consultative selling skills.
- Ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions and measurable outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Employee Experience Platforms (EXP), intranet platforms, digital workplace technologies, or employee engagement solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Viva, Copilot, Azure OpenAI, and AI-driven workplace experiences.>
- Experience integrating enterprise applications such as Workday, ServiceNow, Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, or SuccessFactors.
- Knowledge of enterprise governance, security, compliance, and identity management.
- Microsoft certifications in Azure, Microsoft 365, or Modern Workplace technologies.
- Experience working within SaaS and subscription-based software business models.
